Iowa Nigeria Partnership

Won't you join us in helping the UMCN-United Methodist Church in Nigeria.

This summer Linda Rowe and Shannon Vesely from BUMC will be going to Nigeria as part of the Iowa Nigeria Partnership (INP). The people of BUMC have become familiar with INP through Linda's past trips and have contributed a lot to many projects there. Your giving has benefited many people. Shannan and Linda will get to personally see where our dollars go. They may even get to help unload the sea container and distribute all the stuff. No matter what kind of interests you might have there is probably a project you could support.

We are encouraging you to give a special offering taken on May 4^th. All donations must be given by May 14^th. Below is a list of projects you may choose to give to or any undesignated monies will be used where most needed.

*$1.50 will send an elementary student to school for a term with paper, pencils, etc.

*Many teachers have not been paid for months. $15 will provide a one month stipend for a teacher.

*Solar pumps can be put in, to bring water for a small village for about $500.

*$150 will perform a cataract surgery so someone can see again. They plan to do 50 of these while our medical team is there this summer.

*$3000 - $5000 drills a deep village well.

*Scholarships to the Africa University

*Scholarships for theological seminary.

*Theological books.

*Ag centers with poultry, swine and goat programs.

*Six different schools which we support with teacher and student stipends, in- service training, building and repair projects.

*Travel and vehicle and food expenses.

*Solar panels and batteries.

*Many, many more.

Through most of us are not rich, but we are much better off then most of the people of the world. Won't you help our brothers and sisters in the UMCN by helping a student go to school, a teacher get paid, a village have good water, or someone to see again? The people of Nigeria say Na Gode!
